What are the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?

"SDGs" is the acronym for Sustainable Development Goals, adopted unanimously as part of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda at the 2015 United Nations General Assembly. They are intended to make the world better and more sustainable by 2030.
With 17 goals and 169 targets, they swear to "leave no one behind" on the earth.

Seki Garden Factory

01Actions for the Environment

Seki Garden Factory Landscape Plan

A plant aiming to meld with nature for the sake of its workers

Based on our philosophy of Good Products from a Good Environment, we have created an environment based on the concept of a "garden factory" or factory in a park.

We have also landscaped the environment around the factory, such as improving the water quality in the area inhabited by spot-billed ducks, a rare regional species, to enhance biological diversity and create a forest where humanity can coexist with other living things.

Mino Garden Factory

02Actions for Safety

Creation of the Mino Garden Factory casting environment

Realizing safety and comfort that overturns the prevailing concepts about casting plants

While casting works are generally considered harsh environments, we have switched to the use of remote operation for the pouring line, which uses high-temperature molten metal, to ensure both safety and productivity.

We have also taken various measures such as dust-proofing, high-powered HVAC, automation of plant processes, and so on, to create a good working environment with our workers' safety and comfort in mind.

Gifu Collection of Modern Arts

03Actions for Society and Culture

Operating the Gifu Collection of Modern Arts

Contributing to cultural improvement for employees and the region with an open art museum

The Gifu Collection of Modern Arts is located within our headquarters. Here we create what cultural life we may by hosting regular concerts, art exhibitions, and so on, hoping to contribute to the local community.

We plan to take active steps to conserve the natural environment and contribute to culture as a good corporate citizen, rather than stopping at manufacturing alone.

04Actions for Learning

Realizing learning and work satisfaction through the "meister system"

We want to support the urge to learn. Based on this philosophy, we provide financial support for employees studying for qualifications and bonuses for those acquiring them, calling this our "meister system."
Over 20 years, this system has realized a positive corporate atmosphere in which half our employees take up study.

05Actions for Ecology

Conservation of the global environment through the promotion of improvement activities

Believing that the conservation of the global environment is an important aspect of manufacturing, we take part in various improvement activities on a daily basis, such as the following examples.
Through eco-friendly, energy efficient, safe, high-quality manufacturing, we provide our customers with better products. We engage in open, highly transparent business with consideration for society and the environment.

Example 1: Reducing power consumption during melting in the casting process
